1950's might be my style!

So I found this and fell in love with it, and it was marked down 70% at habitat so I got it for our new place. We are trying to decide if we will be using it to store kitchen stuff, or school stuff, or be a tv stand. But I am not sure I will do anything to it at this point. It is nice to have a few pieces that look good on their own!

I'm calling it Lylia's cookie chair!

Isn't it just beautiful?! Oh it is so cute! Needs a little bit of steel wool, but this is going to look awesome! And for only $5 I couldn't pass it up!       See how the stool comes out! It is so neat. Lylia LOVES it!!!

A place for shoes

The bottom two drawers I took out to sand them I took the drawers from inside her out as well because I wasn't going to sand them. Since we are moving into the funeral home we have to find good ways of storing things so it looks nice at all times. So I found this piece yet again at Habitat for Humanity and thought about our shoes. We looked at ikea at their shoe racks but they were expensive and looked like they would tip over. So when I saw this and that it has drawers that come out thought this baby was it!  I am not in love with the hard ware but they were still in good shape and matched the paint so I went with it! The after! I need to put the shelves back in. Trust me they are cool!

Quilt ladder!

Bought off craigs list a week after Megan was born. I know I am crazy, but I had been looking for another one for cheap and found this one and had to jump on it! Covered with some kind of gray paint or primer or something! It had to go! Sanding it down to the pair bones!  Ta-dah!!!  I put on liquid sandpaper and sanded it then put it on again and sanded it again. Then put a lacquer on top! Turned out awesome!  The baby quilt I quilted for my upstairs neighbor! My mom quilted it for me with little dinosaurs on it! I love it!

Accent chairs anyone?! Yes please!

Habitat for Humanity was having a huge sale for their one year anniversary and it was only right that I go and support their cause! lol. So I came home with some goodies! I found two chairs that I am so excited to put in our new apartment. We never seem to have enough seating in our living room, so that is where at least one of these will go! This had something weird on it, and I was worried it wouldn't come off. I tried to do some research on it, and asked my sister and other people but didn't want to try anything to strong on it. So one morning I had the inspiration to try nail polish remover, because it has acetone in it. Well it worked beautifully!  You can see what it looked like before and the after!  Isn't she a beaut! $7!  I got this chair for the same price and my good friend Sandra whose family owns a reupholstering company is going to show me how to recover this beauty like a professional!  I can't wait. I shouldn't be having pr...

Clips oh Clips where art thou!

I have had the stuff for this project for months, and finally got around to doing it! Hence it being one of my finished projects! Frame from joanns dirt cheap and ribbon! And fabric from a yard sale! In total this baby cost me about $7 to make! Lylia was crying because she wanted a picture of it by herself.  Now all of her clips have pairs!!! And we will know just where to put them all with them looking good!

Quilting Table complete!

This was definately one of my more fun projects because I picked a bright color! It is called lemon grass! I wanted something to make me smile and it does! I really love the racks I spray painted with black metallic paint! Letting it dry! Don't you love the layers of three contact papers! I decided to buy some really cheap laminate tile from big lots and that is what is in the drawers and cabinet area! Before   After!!! So what do you think?!  Not bad for a $20 cutting table and storage for my sewing projects!
