Baby wipes and other projects!

Justin is always in search of his keys, and I saw an idea on etsy where this girl is selling these for like $25, and I knew I could make the same thing for only $5 at the most. So that is what I did. Now Justin knows just where to find his keys. Just made from canvas wrapped in upholstery fabric and little hooks screwed in place.

Closet organizing. I wish I had a before picture, but I didn't remember until I was done. It is nice having a place for everything now!

This has been the project bothering me for months!

Justin has his own tool shelf, I have my own sewing shelf, and the towels have a place too!

Truly life feels good when I feel that I can find things!

When we went to Maryland for Christmas we had been looking for a chair for when the baby comes that I could sit and nurse in. We had looked on craigslist here in Pittsburgh, but no joke all the chairs where gross looking and were like $150. I was just about to just buy a new one for around the same price, when we decided to try going to the goodwill near my mom's house. There are not any good thrift stores near us. The one that is just down the street is run by a Jewish organization and for little plates it is like $6. Miss DI for sure! Anyway we found a purple chair that just needed a good cleaning and for $20 we couldn't pass it up. The only downfall was that it was a little low to get out of easily. After having Lylia by c-section you can't help but think of all the ways your stomach will hurt, and what would make it easier, and so I hired my Justin to build a platform for it to sit on to have it be a little higher. We got a piece of scrap wood for $4 at Home depot, and covered it with discounted foam and fabric and wallah we have a great sitting chair. It is so comfortable!

And my last project for this post is baby wipes. Thanks to my mom's serger I love these baby wipes. I probably should make more but for now these will do! It just feels so good to have these projects done!

  1. i love good makeover projects! I'm still puzzling how Justin made the chair platform, is it just a really thick piece of wood under the whole thing, or did he make a box and attach it somehow? either way, great idea! and the key ring thing is a cute idea, I can't believe that lady is selling them for so much on etsy, that's crazy!

  2. Yay for wipes! I totally would have made my own if I had access to a serger... sigh. I keep wanting to buy one for myself, but so far I haven't been able to convince myself that it's worth the $179. I keep telling Geoff that I will make all of our kids' clothes if he will only buy me a serger, but so far he's not buying it. :)
