No ordinary Pie

So I truly don't like pie usually, but I decided to try and see if I changed my mind. Well I found this recipe, and have made it three times in the past week (which is awful I know) but that is how good it is!!! You must try it. It is so flakey, and melt in your mouth amazingness! Oh my gosh just thinking about it makes me want it again! Seriously the ingredients look so weird for pie, but that is why I tried it, and that is why I LOVED it!!! http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2007/12/p-p-p-pie_crust_and_its_p-p-p-perfect/

Reindeer Donuts

These aren't the exact ones I did, but they are pretty close. Lylia and I made these reindeer donuts as a treat for her preschool class, as well as daddy's work! They were a hit!

Candy Jar Gumball Gift

This is the one I saw on pinterest. Here is the link to do it! Super easy and cheap too! http://wrapcandy.com/crafts/2011/11/make-a-gumball-candy-dish-craft/ I got some round wood disks from Jo-anns for about $1.88 I think. Then with a little Gorilla Glue I attached it to the terra cotta water catcher.  The importance of the disk is to keep the lid from falling off! Then I also got at Jo-ann's wooden knobs! Same price if I remember correctly! The glass bowl is from the dollar store, and the terra cotta planter and bottom I got at Jo-Anns for like $2. Then I spray painted the base and the lid with glossy black spray paint that I was able to get half off at Jo-Ann's with a 50% coupon. And with again a little Gorilla Glue, glued everything together. And filled it with hershey's with almonds and tied a ribbon around it!  All in all it was about a $10 gift for Lylia's preschool teacher! What do you think?

My list of future projects!

The Lyrics of our wedding song on canvas! Love this! We have too songs that mean something to us, Depeche Mode "Somebody" & Richard Marx "Right Here Waiting". I think I will do the Richard Marx song! http://thishumblehome.com/lovely-lyrics/ Lets face it I've been wanting to do something with an old window forever, so I am going to do something similar with one of our wedding pictures or family pictures! My bestest friend Molly and her hubby made this, and I am SO in LOVE that I need one! I don't even have cinder block walls anymore, but I still can't paint, and I LOVE this! So who better than me would this project be for?! No one, I have like over a hundred envelopes from Justin's mission that either housed my love letters or his! So you can bet your bottom dollar that I will have hers and his matching letters! I found that I can do this at staples, and I am so excited! I've been wanting to make a waterproof pic...

A quilt of Thanks!

I made this quilt for Justin's parents because they have helped us pay for tuition over the past few years, car emergencies, and so that Justin could just focus on studying, and so much more that I am forgetting. We truly are thankful for all they do for us! I hope they like the colors. My mom can attest to how long I spent in the quilt shop trying to pick out just the right ones. I wish I had gotten a better picture, but I think they are on our missing camera. If we ever find it I will share my pictures. I also got to quilt it on my mom's long arm quilt machine!

Side table I had to leave too

I wanted a statement piece in my room, and well this was going to be it. But yet again I didn't have ANY room for it, so I gave it to a friend! Who I hope loves it!  It was black before. What do you think?

Quilt for someone in need

There is a gentleman that is investigating the church and we found out that he didn't have heat. I couldn't afford to do much for him except use what little talent I have to make this quilt for him. His favorite color is black. I haven't finished it yet, and I was hoping to have it for him for his baptism, but he isn't sure he is going to get baptized yet. Either way I am happy to give this to him. I hope more than anything that he will always look at it and know that someone loves him. I am going to put a black border I think on it. But I haven't decided yet. Not finished yet...but soon!
